Our Firm
GRUBA GUZMAN LAW is a general professional partnership engaged in the practice of law in the Philippines, with offices in the Makati Central Business District.
The Firm was founded in 2014 by Atty. Hercules (Jun) T. Guzman, Jr., following his tenure at Quisumbing Makalintal Law Firm. He rejoined the Firm in 2021 after serving in the Philippine Government as Assistant Secretary at the Office of the President under the Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel OCPLC.
In 2016, Atty. Katherine Therese Gruba joined the Firm after serving as Senior Associate in the Tax Division of Reyes Tacandong & Co. She currently serves as the Firm’s Managing Partner and as President of GGL Support Services, Inc., a member firm of the Gruba Guzman Group.
A full-service law firm, GRUBA GUZMAN LAW advises individual and institutional clients on matters involving taxation, corporate law, real estate, labor and employment, litigation, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and government relations.
In response to clients’ growing need for integrated tax compliance, bookkeeping, and payroll services, the Firm established GGL Support Services, Inc., a business process outsourcing company composed of experienced Certified Public Accountants and business consultants, dedicated exclusively to servicing the Firm’s clients.

GRUBA GUZMAN LAW draws its roots from a tradition of public service, legal practice, and professional discipline.
Justice Manuel K. Gruba (1941-1996)
Justice Manuel K. Gruba, the grandfather of Managing Partner Atty. Katherine Therese Gruba, was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1976 and began his government service at the Bureau of Internal Revenue in 1979.
He rose through the ranks of the Bureau of Internal Revenue and was appointed Associate Justice of the Court of Tax Appeals in 1992.
Professor Hercules P. Guzman (Retired)
Professor Hercules P. Guzman, the father of Founding Partner Atty. Hercules Jun T. Guzman, Jr., was engaged in the practice of law from 1984 until his retirement in 2020. He is a respected law professor and bar lecturer in Civil Law at various law schools and bar review institutions in the Philippines.
In addition to his law degree, Professor Guzman is a licensed Chemical Engineer and a Certified Public Accountant CPA. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the MapUa Institute of Technology, placing 7th in the Chemical Engineering Board Examinations, and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the Philippine School of Business Administration, placing 10th in the Accountancy Board Examinations. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from De La Salle University–Manila.
